Skype Interaction with Rawlins Academy

Along with the SAARTHI Programme we do a charity project with our British Council School at UK named Rawlins Academy. Three students i.e. Nishanth Shankar, Rajat Maheshwari and Sambhrami Patil had a skype interaction with the students of the UK school. Our school first told them about the various programmes such as the Christmas gift collection and distribution of these gifts to the various under-privileged schools and our visit to the BGS School for Blind. We also mentioned about the SAARTHI Programme. They were highly impressed by our schools work and also told us about how they had raised a fund towards the charity organization. They have also agreed to work together in future and also help us in our programmes and our school has also agreed to do the same for them. We are in contact with each other, striving hard towards a quality charity work.

In this fast moving, fast changing world there are many transitions taking place. There are many buildings coming up, expansion of cities taking place and the ground being covered by tar all around. The priority towards conservation of the green cover is decreasing rapidly which is the most important factor in keeping the world alive. “TERI” organization keeping these things in mind came up with a very innovative idea of herbal garden having the intention to save the green cover.

BGS NPS participated in this event organized by this non-profit organization in the month of November. The coordinator Ms. Pavithra  from “TERI” visited our school for the same. 21 students of 11th standard participated in this. The event commenced by a short introduction given by the ambassador .She talked about “TERI”, its accomplishments, its different branches in different cities and also about a huge project of tetra pak processing which was conducted in many metropolitan cities. She addressed about the importance of green cover in this fast changing world, the ways of conserving it and the main aim of herbal garden. 50+ saplings, pots were bought. Compost was obtained from the compost pit in our school. The students were instructed about the planting process. At the end of the assignment there were more than 50 saplings planted and neatly arranged. The students put in a good amount of hard work and produced a quality team work.
The students were happy to have contributed to the sustainment of the green cover. They also promised to take care of the garden and water the plants regularly. We appreciate “TERI” organization for their innovative idea and the herbal garden. We will support them in their future projects.

They were also thought about its features and uses. It was a wonderful experience of teaching for the mentors. Their smile, happiness, naughtiness, the grace which they have in them to learn something new – all of them gave us a new way of living and ambition.

BGS School for Blind

BGS School for Blind
On the 7th of January 2014,   students from the charity group visited the BGS School for Blind, Ramnagar. Gifts were collected from all classes of the school for charity and given to the students of the blind school. In turn the physically challenged students put up a show in which they sang, danced and were also able to mimic sounds of traffic, animals etc. and proved that they were not to be underestimated because of their physical challenge. There are many values that are to be learnt from these students—they are extremely disciplined and do not let anything discourage them. This was an effective method of extending our ever– present support to them.
