Assembly Session - 5

A session on Project SEARCH for teachers, students and parents on the occasion   of Republic Day was conducted by Sambhrami Patil and Divya Shekhar of Class VIII. The whole auditorium was filled. In this session we covered the following points:  

• What is Project SEARCH?? (Including what is TERI and Tetra Pak) 

• Main Programmes of Project SEARCH (TRASH Festival, Tetra Pak Ambassador’s Programme, Transition Programmes and STEP)

• Three Pillars of Project SEARCH 

• How our school is collecting waste from institutions, communities and students

• How Tetra Pak is being manufactured

• Layers of Tetra Pak

• Principle of 4Rs

Showed a video about a boy who comes from a rich family and on every Sunday morning he goes to his neighbourhood and collects all the waste which has been dropped on the road in a cover. First, people find him cute but when he starts collecting all the waste they think he is a slum boy and go away from him. Later when his father comes to pick him up he throws the cover in the community dustbin. Everyone realizes that he has come from a rich family and get inspired from him. From this video we could conclude that a small thing is very needful, great and should start with every individual.                        

The session was successful. At the end of the session we gave everyone feedback forms. We got a very good feedback.

Everyone said that the session gave good information and good reason to recycle.

Many of them found the small boy video inspiring.

Suggestions/Questions given by parents:

• Some of them said that they will educate their family, friends and colleagues   about the project.

• Asked us to reach as many people as we can.

• Waste Collection bins must be kept on streets also.

• 3parents gave their numbers so that we can come to their colonies and conduct    a session there.

The chief guest was very impressed with this Project and also rewarded us.   Our whole team was happy on seeing such a good response from everyone.                                           A special thanks to all the parents who took the time from their busy schedule  to witness the session and help us spread awareness.
